Nat Ware is the Founder and Chairman of 180 Degrees Consulting.
Nat has a long history of commitment to social impact. In 2005, he was selected as a World Vision Youth Ambassador, and raised over $100,000 to rebuild a school in Mozambique and build an orphanage in Thailand following the Boxing Day Tsunami.
Then, at the end of high school, Nat realized that doing good is as much an intellectual endeavour as it is an emotional endeavour, and how you approach problems is just as important as how much money you throw at it. He wanted a way for people to donate with their minds and not just with their money, so Founded 180 Degrees Consulting in 2007. He wanted to develop the next generation of social impact leaders, while at the same time helping great non-profits and social enterprises to solve problems they’re facing and scale up to help more people.
At the same time as growing 180 Degrees Consulting, Nat focused his academic studies in Development Economics. He completed Economics (Honours) at The University of Sydney, receiving the University Medal and Convocation Medal. After this, he was selected as a Rhodes Scholar, and went to Oxford where he completed a Masters in Development Economics (Arthur Lewis Prize for Best Performance), an MBA (Säid Prize for Top MBA Student), and a PhD in International Development (awarded with “no corrections).
As part of this PhD, Nat developed a new way to finance education to disadvantaged populations around the world at no cost to individuals or governments, a new way of doing impact investing, a new business model for non-profits and social enterprises, and a new way of measuring social impact. Rather than letting this research sit on a shelf collecting dust, Nat was determined to bring it to life and make it happen. So he started a second social venture called Forte, which he currently leads as Founder/CEO.
Nat Ware is also a Forbes 30U30, UBS Global Visionary, Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Fellow, Princeton Visiting Fellow, Goldman Sachs Global Leader, Westpac Social Change Fellow, Asia 21 Young Leader, and is the only-ever Two-Time Winner of the prestigious St Gallen Global Essay Competition.
Nat continues to serve 180 Degrees as Chair of the Board of Directors.
