Operations

Global Operations Specialist

The Global Operations Specialists support branches and GLT to achieve operational excellence and increase their social impact. They provide strategic and operational support to branches on a regional basis: Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) or Americas (AMER).  (APAC, EMEA, AMER) and support regional programs (run by the Global Programs team). They also provide cross-functional support to GLT teams that require collaboration with branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional level strategies in collaboration with your regional team
  • Support branches in developing their strategies and improving operations
  • Be the contact person for branch executives for any operational questions
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational excellence (eg. compliance) within the GLT and branches
  • Collaborate across GLT teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives (such as Branch Performance Framework, New System Roll-out, Consultant Exchange Program and more!)
  • Organise 180 DC regional events like case competitions and regional meet-ups

Mandatory Attributes

  • Prior involvement in 180 Degrees Consulting as a Consultant or Branch Executive 
  • Experience in using collaborative working tools such as Monday.com and Google Drive
  • Be motivated by and adhere to the 180 Degrees mission and embody 180 Degrees values
  • Level of comfort with uncertainty and flexibility
  • Capable of expressing bold and unique ideas with methods to validate

Desired Attributes

  • Geographical proximity and good understanding of branches in certain locations. Currently, this position has a preference for candidates based in AMER/Middle East/Nordics  
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in changing circumstances 
  • Ability to consistently deliver agreed responsibilities with highest standard and little oversight

Time Required

  • This role is voluntary, with a significant degree of flexibility in how and when you allocate time during the week 
  • You must be able to commit at least 7-9 hours per week, including fortnightly team meetings and quarterly GLT-wide meeting

Global Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist

The Global L&D Specialist is responsible for improving the effectiveness of branch operations, and the quality of consulting advice we deliver to clients worldwide. You will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of branch operations of 180+ branches and/or the quality of consulting projects that 180 Degrees provides to non-profits world-wide. 

Working closely with branches and the GLT, we strive to create resources that guide, upskill and inspire the 180 Degrees Consulting global network. We analyse and understand the learning needs of 180 Degrees Consulting by identifying key issues and opportunities to improve the capability of our people. We launch solutions through various channels such as the knowledge resource library, in order to scale our work across 180 Degrees Consulting globally and ensure all of our work has an impact. 

This position presents an opportunity to engage in knowledge management that will impact 180+ branches and nonprofits as well as thousands of consultants each year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for improving the effectiveness of branch operations and/or the quality of consulting projects that 180 Degrees provides to non-profits world-wide 
  • Assess the learning needs of branch executives, consultants and project leaders, and design learning curriculums & resources that build their capability
  • Develop materials (e.g. videos, slides, templates, tools) to support the upskilling of the 180 Degrees network on topics like: consulting methodologies; specific project types; analytics tools and frameworks; and functional branch processes (e.g. finance, sponsorship, recruitment, governance)
  • Plan, deliver and improve 180 Degrees’ learning management system; embed resources on our Consulting Resource Porta

Mandatory Attributes

  • Prior involvement as a 180 Degrees Consultant or Branch Executive or similar (student) consultant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet shared goals in a virtual environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, and solve problems in a structured manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Attributes

  • Previous or current experience working in the consulting industry (i.e. having experience in creating consulting slides) is highly desirable though not essential
  • Experience in the education or e-learning sector is desirable.
  • Experience with filming or sound/video editing is desirable, though not essential.
  • Experience in learning needs analysis, learning/instructional design is highly desirable, though not essential.

Global Growth Specialist

The Global Growth Specialist is responsible for developing and executing 180 Degrees’ global expansion strategy. The Global Growth Specialist supports branch founders along their journey of founding a new 180 Degrees Consulting Branch. They assess applications, conduct interviews with potential new founders and assess the quality of the applications. The Growth Specialist also helps the founding teams in improving their proposals and answering any questions that arise during the process. By joining the Growth team, you will make a huge impact on the whole 180 Degrees network and the hundreds of projects around the world. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute our growth programs by reviewing incoming applications, conducting interviews, providing feedback and supporting to guide branch applicants to successfully establish their branches 
  • Develop innovative solutions and tailored approaches to expand 180 Degrees Consulting in key regions around the world 
  • Coach prospective branch founding teams through the process to design, plan, launch and manage a new branch
  • Liaise with the Global Operations team to transition branches once they are established
  • Contribute to team development initiatives, such as strategy documentation, process optimization and impact measurement

Mandatory Attributes

  • Prior involvement in 180 Degrees Consulting as a Consultant, Branch Executive or Founder, or familiarity with the branch application process 
  • Passionate about social impact and eager to help 180 Degrees Consulting to expand to universities around the world
  • Willing to work in a team that operates virtually, and appreciative of the need for careful and consistent documentation of branch interactions in such an environment
  • High levels of verbal and written communication
  • Diligence in relationship management, including the capacity to respond to enquiries in a timely fashion

  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to complete projects independently from start to finish
  • High levels of self-confidence and empathy in approaching and building relationships with potential branch founders
  • Knowledge of 1-2 regions/countries and be willing to pursue creative strategies to source and cultivate new branch founders

Global Programs Specialist

The Global Branch Programs Specialists support branches and GLT to achieve operational excellence. They provide strategic and operational support to branches through designing and implementing global programs such as the annual Global Awards and the regional summits (AMER, EMEA and APAC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global programs to enhance cross-continental collaboration and community in the 180DC community 
  • Organize and develop Regional Summits and Global Awards
  • Be the coach and contact person for regional summit executive teams 
  • Action feedback from branches and evaluators to improve Global Awards process
  • Collaborate across GLT teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives (such as automation of processes for Global Awards, using regional summits to foster branch growth and new partnerships)
  • Come up with your own ideas and projects to improve 180DC at the organizational level

External Relations

Global Communications Specialist

The Global Communications Specialist is responsible for the public relations and external image of 180 Degrees Consulting. The Global Communications Specialist leads marketing and PR initiatives/campaigns aligned with our high-level marketing strategy. This involves developing and deploying brand resources, marketing content and communications to convey 180 Degrees’ brand, activities and impact to our key audiences and stakeholders. The Global Communications Specialist also supports cross-functional teams across the GLT to develop impactful marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with other teams such as Business Development, Strategic Partnerships and People & Culture to plan the annual marketing calendar and enhance user experience across all digital touch points
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of written and verbal content used in corporate communications, marketing materials, advertisements, social media posts, press releases, website content, and other communication channels
  • Source and provide editorial support for articles featured on our website based on our communications strategy
  • Identify and assess potential reputational risks associated with content and messaging, and propose solutions to minimize these risks while maintaining effective communication strategies.
  • Generate regular reports on compliance metrics and issues identified during content reviews, providing insights to management and stakeholders.
  • Researching and writing your own news stories, analysis and opinion pieces, plus regular long-form contributions such as investigations and features.

Desired Attributes

  • Passionate about the non-profit sector, and love gathering and communicating stories about social change and social impact 
  • Prior experience in marketing, editing, design or social media management 
  • Track competition and review revenues on a per period basis.
  • Facilitate exciting, crucial strategies with tangible top and bottom-line impact.
  • Impeccable written communication capability and ability to curate messaging is essential. Applicants must have an exceptional knowledge of English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Applicants who progress to the interview stage may be asked to produce two short pieces of written work.
  • Familiarity with best-practice marketing strategies for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram is desirable’, though not essential.
  • Lead generation, digital community building and marketing experience
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet shared goals in a globally dispersed, virtual environment.
  • Highly self-motivated

Global Strategic Partnerships Specialist

The Global Strategic Partnerships Specialist will drive 180 Degrees Consulting’s future growth by identifying new private, public and social sector organizations that can support 180 Degrees Consulting financially and/or strategically and by managing the expansion of the existing global partnerships. The position requires someone who is capable of identifying, pitching and securing partnerships/sponsorships with large organizations, has strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work with different cultures and to have a hands-on approach

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, negotiate and develop strategic partnerships with private, public and social sector organizations (e.g. corporates, foundations etc.) that help 180 Degrees Consulting achieve its strategic goals and diversify its revenue streams
  • Responsible for managing, retaining and growing the existing global partnerships of 180 Degrees
  • Identify and articulate the unique value proposition of 180 Degrees that can be utilized to attract new partners and sponsors
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to drive growth and position 180 Degrees Consulting as a leader in our field
  • Draft partnership and sponsorship proposals that consider the diverse needs of potential partners/sponsors of 180 Degrees
  • Assist with shaping the global partnerships strategy for 180 Degrees

Mandatory Attributes

  • A proven track record of negotiating and securing ambitious partnerships & sponsorships 
  • High levels of verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and professionalism

  • A strategic thinker who can identify, progress and convert external opportunities.
  • Previous experience in interacting and negotiating with senior stakeholders at corporations, foundations or governments.
  • Previous experience in managing customer or partner accounts, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialogue.
  • Willingness to work in a team that operates virtually, and appreciative of the need for careful and consistent documentation of partner interactions in such an environment
