Operations

Global Operations Specialist

The Global Operations Specialists support branches and GLT to achieve operational excellence and increase their social impact. They provide strategic and operational support to branches on a regional basis: Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) or Americas (AMER).  (APAC, EMEA, AMER) and support regional programs (run by the Global Programs team). They also provide cross-functional support to GLT teams that require collaboration with branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional level strategies in collaboration with your regional team.
  • Support branches in developing their own strategies and improving their own operations.
  • Coach and contact person for branch executives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational excellence within the GLT and branches.
  • Collaborate across GLT teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives (such as a branch performance framework, new system roll-out, consultant exchange program and more!)
  • Organizing smaller regional events like social events or group calls
  • Depending on the team needs, you will focus on certain workstream(s).

Global Branch Programs Specialist

The Global Branch Programs Specialists support branches and GLT to achieve operational excellence. They provide strategic and operational support to branches through designing and implementing global programs such as the annual Global Awards and the regional summits (AMER, EMEA and APAC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global programs to enhance cross-continental collaboration and community in the 180DC community
  • Organize and develop Regional Summits and Global Awards
  • Coach and contact person for regional summit executive teams
  • Analyse past regional summits and optimise the organisation process
  • Action feedback from branches and evaluators to improve Global Awards process
  • Collaborate across GLT teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives (such as automation of processes for Global Awards, using regional summits to foster branch growth and new partnerships)

Global Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist

The Global L&D Specialists are responsible for improving the effectiveness of branch operations, and/or the quality of consulting advice we deliver to clients worldwide. The division scope within the L&D team is twofold; L&D Project Delivery and L&D Branch Operations. Working closely with branches and the GLT, we strive to create resources that guide, upskill and inspire the 180 Degrees Consulting global network. We analyse and deeply understand the learning needs of 180 Degrees Consulting by identifying key issues and opportunities to improve the capability of our people. We launch solutions through various channels such as the knowledge resource library, in order to scale our work across 180 Degrees Consulting globally and ensure all of our work has an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for improving the effectiveness of branch operations as part of L&D Branch Operations and/or the quality of consulting projects that 180 Degrees provides to non-profits world-wide as part of L&D Project Delivery
  • Assess the learning needs of branch executives, consultants and project leaders, and design learning curriculums & resources that build their capability
  • Develop materials (e.g. videos, slides, templates, tools) to support the upskilling of the 180 Degrees network on topics like: consulting methodologies; specific project types; analytics tools and frameworks; and functional branch processes (e.g. finance, sponsorship, recruitment, governance)
  • Plan, deliver and improve 180 Degrees’ learning management system as part of the L&D Branch Operations team
  • Analyse past consulting projects to determine patterns in the issues faced by non-profits
  • Analyse client feedback to identify opportunities to improve project outcomes globally

Mandatory Attributes

Global Branch Growth Specialist

The Global Growth Specialists support branch founders along their journey of founding a new 180 Degrees Consulting Branch. They assess applications, hold interviews with potential new founders and control the quality of the applications that arrive. After deciding which founding teams to allow to join the accelerator programme the Growth Specialists also help the founding teams in improving their proposals and answering any questions that arise during the process. With this the Specialists have a huge responsibility in selecting high quality candidates and a large impact as the selected teams go on to found branches which execute hundreds of projects around the world. The team also works on finding opportunities to market 180 Degrees Consulting to areas in the world where the organization is less present.

Key Responsibilities

Global Growth Specialists are primarily involved in:

  • Executing our growth programs where they will review incoming applications, conduct interviews, provide feedback and support to guide 180DC branch applicants to successfully establish their branch
  • Developing innovative solutions and tailored approaches to expand 180 Degrees in key regions around the world.
  • Coaching prospective branch founding teams through the process to design, plan, launch and manage a new branch
  • Liaising with the Global Operations team to transition branches once they are established
  • Contributing to team development initiatives, such as strategy documentation, process optimization and impact measurement
  • Depending on the team needs, you will focus on certain workstream(s)

Mandatory Attributes

External Relations

Global Public Relations Specialist

The Global Operations Public Relations Specialist supports the  GLT to increase our scope of influence and impact. They provide strategic and operational support to our organization to increase its presence on the global scene. They also provide cross-functional support to GLT teams that require collaboration with branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement international strategies to grow our influence in international organizations
  • Increase the scope of influence of 180DC on the global scene
  • Development partnerships with international public/private/non profit organizations which have common values and target audience
  • Apply to the United Nations on behalf of 180DC to get a seat through the ECOSOC committee
  • Apply at the Davos forum and other international conferences to be able to lobby on behalf of 180DC there
  • Provide and implement action plans to increase the global reach of our values and impact to grow our brand reputation within the media
  • Depending on the team needs, you will focus on certain workstream(s)

Global Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Global Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for the public face of 180 Degrees Consulting. The Global Marketing & Communications Specialist contributes to 180 Degrees Consulting on a global scale by leading marketing and communication initiatives/campaigns aligned with the marketing strategy. This involves developing and deploying brand resources, marketing content and communications to convey 180 Degrees’ brand, activities and impact to our key audiences and stakeholders. In addition supporting cross-functional teams across the GLT to develop impactful marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and deploying marketing content and communications that resonate with key audiences and stakeholders, aligned with the overall marketing & communications strategy and GLT objectives.
  • Craft and implement brand management strategies impacting the messaging, and positioning and align them with the target audience and 180DC’s values.
  • Championing branding standards across the 180 Degrees network, providing marketing and communications guidance and coaching to other teams across the GLT as well as the global branch network.
  • Assisting in planning and executing the annual marketing calendar working closely with the team, and with Business Development, Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations teams to ensure that all content produced is consistent with the brand and marcom strategy.
  • Enhancing experience across all digital touch-points by improving communication and brand experience across multiple customer journeys. Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fostering communication with branches on branding and marketing initiatives via social media and more.

Desired Attributes

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about the non-profit sector, and loves gathering and communicating stories about social change and social impact.
  • Prior marketing, editing, design or social media management experience is essential
  • Excellent written communication capability and ability to curate messaging is essential. Applicants must have an exceptional knowledge of English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Applicants who progress to the interview stage may be asked to produce two short pieces of written work.
  • Familiarity with best-practice marketing strategies for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram is desirable’, though not essential.

Global Business Development Specialist

The Global Business Development Specialist is an integral position within 180 Degrees Consulting as they are responsible for securing projects and contributions for the network of our 180 Degrees branches. Working with clients across the world, the position requires strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work with different cultures and to have a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and increase financial sustainability for 180 Degrees as a whole, through global client acquisitions and transactions
  • Develop and execute a lead generation strategy; positioning 180 Degrees to work with larger social sector clients and achieve financial contribution targets
  • Work and negotiate with potential clients to conduct consulting project scoping and secure consulting engagements with an agreed financial contribution
  • Develop 180 Degrees’ business strategy to increase financial sustainability and form high-level strategic decisions
  • Identify changes to the client acquisition process to improve efficiency and transparency across the team and the whole GLT
  • Liaise with the Global Operations Team and 180 Degrees Branch Executives to match consulting projects to branches. Therefore, delivering the highest quality consulting for our clients and meeting their needs and expectations

Global Strategic Partnerships Specialist

The Global Strategic Partnerships Specialist will drive 180 Degrees Consulting’s future growth by identifying new private, public and social sector organizations that can support the organization financially and/or strategically and by managing the expansion of the existing global partnerships. The position requires someone who is capable of identifying, pitching and securing partnerships/sponsorships with large organizations, has strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work with different cultures and to have a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, negotiate and develop strategic partnerships with private, public and social sector organisations (e.g. corporates, foundations etc.) that help 180 Degrees achieve its strategic goals and diversify its revenue streams
  • Responsible for managing, retaining and growing the existing global partnerships of 180 Degrees
  • Identify and articulate the unique value proposition of 180 Degrees that can be utilized to attract new partners and sponsors
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to drive growth and position 180 Degrees as a leader in our field
  • Draft partnership and sponsorship proposals that consider the diverse needs of potential partners/sponsors of 180 Degrees

IT & Digital

Global IT & Digital Lead

The Global Information Technology and Digital Lead is responsible for overseeing and continually improving digital capabilities across 180 Degrees Consulting and our global branch network. This position requires someone with strong technical knowledge of emerging digital technologies, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to provide creative, innovative and cost-effective solutions to technical problems. As the lead of this portfolio, you will champion our ongoing digital transformation and work with a team of highly-motivated specialists to amplify our organisation’s impact globally.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Lead a team of 2-4 Global IT & Digital Specialists
  • Collaborate with the CDO to set team priorities through the quarterly objectives and key results (OKR) process
  • Prioritise and delegate work to team members; informed by their skills, experiences and individual goals
  • Design and implement ways of working that cultivate a high performance culture
  • Champion an open, collaborative workplace e.g. by driving engagement & discussion through the team Slack channel; and
  • Role model the GLT culture and values

Digital Transformation Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal GLT teams to identify opportunities to improve current processes by leveraging technology (e.g. process automation, data-driven decision support)
  • Plan, prototype and roll out functionality improvements, with an emphasis on low maintenance overhead and improving the user experience
  • Provide technical support to 180 Degrees branches on use of GLT provided platforms (namely monday.com, G-Suite, Slack)
  • Support training and professional development activities at a branch and GLT level
  • Collaborate with the Global Partnership Team to identify technology delivery partners

Global IT & Digital Specialist

The Global Information Technology and Digital Specialist is responsible for developing, executing and supporting the technological activities and infrastructure of 180 Degrees Consulting. The role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to provide creative, innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems. The IT team enacts ongoing IT maintenance and acts as a point of support to the GLT and our network of branches. The Global Information Technology and Digital Specialist will support ongoing delivery of a new suite of systems and applications to replace the existing IT infrastructure as part of our global digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with GLT teams on desired systems functionality, and generate rational development plans for these improvements based on 180 Degrees’ organizational strategy and priorities
  • Plan, develop and roll out functionality improvements, with an emphasis on human centered/service design and improving the user experience
  • Maintain and improve existing IT infrastructure in accordance with organisational requirements
  • Assist in the creation of documentation and user-guides for IT infrastructure usage at a branch and GLT level
  • Provide technical support to 180 Degrees branches

Global Data and Insights Specialist

The Global Data & Insights Specialists collate data insights and collaborate with other GLT teams to implement resulting actions. The Global Data & Insights Specialists build and maintain the GLT data infrastructure to capture and analyse data on branch performance and other 180 Degrees Consulting key metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generating insights from data and translating them into workable action
  • Investigating data sources to inform decision making and additionally improve data outcomes
  • Building and maintaining data infrastructure, data cleansing, and performing data analytics
  • Identify opportunities to improve how and what data is collected within the GLT, branches and at 180 Degrees as a whole

Finance & Legal

Global Legal Coordination Specialist

The Global Legal Coordination Specialist is responsible for championing legal awareness and supporting legal risk management for 180 Degrees Consulting. In this role, Specialists manage and improve key legal documents and work with branch executives to guide resolution of legal challenges related to branch establishment, client engagements, and sponsorship arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve existing legal documents, working with pro bono legal partners to ensure documents are fit for purpose
  • Assist in the creation of documentation and guides for legal awareness and risk management, educating branch executives and GLT members to increase legal prudence and compliance
  • Provide guidance to 180 Degrees branches and GLT in resolving legal challenges related to various legal matters across the organisation
  • Note: Although in this role you will be working on a range of legal related issues (and helping to facilitate their resolution) you will not be responsible for giving any legal or other professional advice
  • Depending on the team needs, you will focus on certain workstream(s)

Desired Attributes

  • Studying a law degree or early experience (1-2 years) as a lawyer, preferably in corporate, contract, tax or IP law
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Global Finance Lead

The Global Finance Team Lead is responsible for the overall financial performance of 180DC, and making sure 180DC complies with all necessary rules and policies in all the countries where we operate.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership/Team Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of the overall organisational strategy and financial plan that maximises our global social impact
  • Lead all new initiatives
  • Coach the Specialists in your team; support their ongoing professional development
  • Co-ordinate between all specialists and act as a bridge between CFO and specialists
  • Prepare financial reporting for the Executive Team
  • Champion the 180DC culture and values: passion for social impact, growth & continuous improvement mindset, transparency and a bias to action

Finance

  • Lead and facilitate GLT-wide business planning, budgeting and forecasting; ensure the budgeting process allocates funds efficiently to projects and investments that are strategically significant and have a long-term impact
  • Monitor and improve financial performance
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with a variety of regulatory bodies across different jurisdictions
  • Administer and improve the invoicing processes used by 180 Degrees branches seeking client financial contributions

Global Finance Specialist

Reporting to the Global Finance Lead, the Global Finance Specialist is responsible for:
(a) developing relationships with sponsors, foundations and governments that involve some form of financial support,
(b) managing the financial systems used to collect financial contributions from clients
(c) ensuring all financial reporting and compliance obligations are met. This role will suit someone with experience and interest in accounting, finance, business development, and/or fundraising

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a financial strategy to ensure financial sustainability of the 180DC; develop and implement an annual budget
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with a variety of regulatory bodies across different jurisdictions
  • Administer and improve the invoicing processes used by 180 Degrees branches seeking client financial contributions
  • Present insights from financial data to the board, executive team and other teams to help with strategy and other goals
  • Manage partnership relationships and grant applications, and seek out new strategic partnerships across the regions in which 180 Degrees operates for fundraising and other activities

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for managing an organization-wide strategic initiative to improve the operational performance of the Global Leadership Team (GLT) and potentially its 170+ branches around the world. You will be responsible for managing a team of Project Specialists to ensure the successful planning, development and execution of a strategy for one the cross-functional projects set as a strategic priority and linked to the organization-wide objectives the GLT has set for 2023.

  • Lead a team of Project Specialists: train, develop and motivate your team while cultivating a high performance culture
  • Facilitate communication between your project team and other 180DC GLT teams.

Global People and Culture Specialist

The Global People and Culture Specialist will join the People and Culture team that is responsible for the recruitment, retention, development, and engagement of the Global Leadership Team of 180 Degrees Consulting. This individual will be responsible for developing and running the recruitment processes to ensure that the GLT always has the right people in the right roles as well as work on D&I, Leadership Development, Engagement, and Learning and Development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing recruitment strategies in alignment with the objectives of 180DC
  • Developing and executing Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership Development, Engagement, and Learning and Development initiatives
